"The Ding A Ling Man” Headlines “Law and DisOrder” in Dulles!
Wilson battles grizzled vet Charles Davis March 8 in Northern Virginia.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
AfterShock Events LLC has secured ‘The Ding A Ling Man’ Darnell Wilson (22-6) vs. Robert Marsh (10-44-3) as the main event in their second show at the All Star Legacy Gym in Dulles Virginia. Wilson, currently ranked at #9 IBF/#7 WBO, is coming off a lackluster and disappointing loss to BJ Flores earlier in the month. He looks to rebound and get back to his knock out ways in a 6 round encounter with Marsh of North Carolina. Wilson of Takoma Park MD will be fighting virtually in his own back yard. The self professed ‘techie’ should feel quite comfortable in Dulles, the east coast‘s Silicon Valley, home of AOL and other prominent technology companies. Marsh has fought tough opposition such as Robert Allen and The Contenders Jaidon Codrington.
The co-main event features Massachusetts rising star Adam Harris (10-0) going up against crafty veteran in Derek ‘D-Mos’ Amos (15-25). Amos will be the most experienced opponent Harris has faced to date. Amos is 2-3 in his last five bouts and knows he needs to upset a prospect like Harris to have any chance of a substantial payday somewhere down the line.
Also on the card is surging Woodbridge bantamweight Andre ‘Clockwork’ Nichols (3-2) facing tough opposition in NYC’s Jhovany Collado (2-6-2). Collado should serve as a good indicator of where Nichols’ is in his progression. This promises to be a very competitive bout.
Another Woodbridge VA resident and former promising cruiserweight ‘Dangerous’ Dana Dunston (4-1) will look to continue his re-emergence against ‘KO’ Kenneth Farr (0-2) of NC. In December 2007 Dunston won his first bout after a 7 year layoff. Dunston still feels like he has a lot of ‘rust’ to shake off but wants to step up his level of opposition should he perform well against Farr.
Locals rounding out the prelims will include jr. welterweight sensation Bayan Jargal (5-0-1), middleweight Tracey Brewer (2-0), making his pro debut, cruiserweight Davii Otgonbayar. These bouts should be little more than showcases for the Beltway boxers, but you never know what can happen in boxing!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Dangerous" Dana Dunston AND Andre “Clockwork” Nichols sign exclusively with AFTERSHOCK and are ready to roll!
More signings expected.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ AfterShock Events and Promotions now headed solely by Asim Hanif Nichols has signed cruiserweight Dana Dunston (4-1) and bantamweight Andre Nichols (3-2) to an exclusive promotional agreement. The signings come as no surprise as Asim has been the longtime trainer of both fighters. Dunston and Nichols will be headlining the next AfterShock card. Dunston and Asim began working together in 1998 when Dunston was still an amateur. Dunston was on a hot streak before losing to current #1 WBO heavyweight Tony Thompson in 2000. Family and work took Dunston out of boxing for 7 years until he recently came back in December 2007 to defeat tough Bernard Brown in a four round split decision. No easy task for someone coming off such a long layoff.
Also recently signed is Hanif’s son, Andre Nichols, a promising young boxer. Despite 2 losses, Andre seems to be getting more comfortable with each fight. “We believe with the right developmental fights, Andre can do big things in the bantam or junior bantamweight division”, stated Hanif. With ongoing discussions progressing well, AfterShock expects to sign one or two more established Beltway boxers in the coming weeks. The next AfterShock Events show is tentatively being set for mid March 2008 and in addition to AfterShock’s own fighters, the public can expect to see other top local prospects. Full details will be available soon.
